Plaça de l'Ajuntament,1 Susqueda CP: 17166 ajuntament@susqueda.net http://www.susqueda.net Phone: 972 19 01 88 Fax: 972 19 06 32 Description: Susqueda is located in the far north-west of the district of La Selva, on the border with Osona and La Garrotxa. It stretches across 50.53 km2 and has a population of 89 inhabitants, distributed among the neighbourhoods of El Far in the north, Sant Martí Sacalm on the plain that stops at the feet of El Far, Susqueda in the lower part of the valley, and Coll in the south. The municipality sprawls over a mountainous area and includes a stretch of the valley of the Ter, at the point where the river flows between the sierra of Sant Benet (1149 m) in the south and the crags closing off the plain of Montdois (929 m) in the north. This orography enabled the construction of the reservoir of Susqueda, which opened in 1968 and covered the lower part of the valley, including the village of Susqueda. The municipality is now concentrated around the little village of Sant Martí Sacalm (835 m) in the north of the municipal district, which sprawls over the base of the crags of El Far (1,111 m). A number of brooks flow down from the surrounding heights into the reservoir at the bottom of the valley: from the north, they flow from the stream of Bonegre, the brooks of Om and Rupit, the mountain stream of Sant Martí, and, in the south, from the stream of Coll.
