FADE (Festival of Digital and Electronic Art)
First weekend in July
FADE is, in the words of its own creators, a village festival for the summer, free of charge and non-profit, open to all audiences, with the aim of linking the most fun aspects of electronic music and digital art to science, technology and social construction. FADE features music, videoart, multimedia, workshops and presentations. FADE is, then, both an educational platform and a sample of all works dealing with the field of digital and electronic art.
One of the most striking elements of FADE is the mapping initiative, which involves projecting a set of visual creations onto the facade of a building, adapting to and interacting with the structure of the edifice itself. The project involves a number of different groups which take part in visual artistic creation and learning: from the children attending the Summer Camp to supporters at the old people’s home.
