The Church of Sant Julià del Llor stands at the top of the highest hill in the municipality, with a commanding view of the entire Anglès Valley and the surrounding peaks. It has been the focal point of this small parish overlooking the Ter River since at least the 10th century. However, the building we see today dates from the 12th century when the church was reconstructed in the Romanesque style.

Despite the significant alterations carried out in the 19th century, funded by Manuel Bonmatí, a prominent local figure who founded the industrial colony that bears his surname, the semicircular apse and Romanesque nave of the church have been preserved almost intact. Once you step inside you realise that most of the alterations carried out in subsequent periods only affected the exterior of the building.
