The small Romanesque Church of Sant Iscle i Santa Victòria de Sauleda is located in the centre of a parish which, like the church itself, is lost amid the mountain greenery of the Guilleries Massif. Built in the 11th century it has survived intact for a thousand years. Its original structure, in the typical Lombard Romanesque style of the period, has been left untouched, except for a sizeable chapel subsequently added to the north end. It is a short walk away from the nearest parking area, but a stroll in such a beautiful setting is an added bonus that makes the church even more special.
